来自30多个州的200多位母亲相约在国会大厦参加了平民活动“ Moms Take the Hill”。 这次活动由民间组织“ Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America”发起， 并受到众多女性国会议员的大力支持。 这些来自不同地区、从事不同工作的母亲在活动中分享了她们身边关于滥用枪支危害儿童的故事， 更积极呼吁全国更多母亲参与并支持控制枪支议案。组织者表示他们将举办更多活动以便让妈妈们更多地重视枪支控制。
