正在斯坦福大學訪學的江宜樺應旅美台僑新成立的智庫“台美关系研究中心” 邀請，在華府國會發表演講，談台灣新政府面臨的機會與挑戰。李克強在“兩會”閉幕記者會上回答台灣媒體提問時表示，大陸方面還會繼續推出有利於兩岸經貿合作的舉措，當然前提是要保持兩岸的和平發展，基石還是“九二共識”。只要遵循這一政治基礎，大家都認同屬於一個中國，什麼問題都好談。

　　江宜樺指出，馬政府之所以在兩岸關係上獲得相當穩定且有成果的進展，在整個東亞區域安全上讓盟友放心，很重要的基礎就是所謂的“九二共識”，在台灣堅持的是“一中各表”。即一個中國是原則，雙方可以保有自己的表述方式，“中華民國”在此基礎上才能獲得自我和國際的肯定。

　　江宜樺稱，蔡英文在競選期間和選後都重申對於“中華民國憲政體制”的尊重，並要以之為基礎，相信這是非常重要的起點。
